Greetings! 

Picture of Nell Bailey, RESNA Executive Director As Executive Director, Ms. Nell Bailey serves as RESNA's chief executive, operating officer and everyday "Face of RESNA."  Ms. Bailey reports to the President and Board of Directors and has responsibility for the management and direction of all operations, programs, activities and affairs of the organization.  Prior to being elevated to the position of Executive Director, Ms. Bailey served over 16 years as Director of the National Assistive Technology Technical Assistance Project (NATTAP) funded by the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended.  Ms. Bailey received a B.A. from Auburn University (1973) and a M.A. from George Mason University (1988).

Ms. Bailey has over 30 years of experience in the disability field, 22 of them working on projects related directly to technology.  While employed at a Northern Virginia consulting firm in the early 1980s, she worked on one of the first technology projects funded by the Department of Education - Project EduTech - which provided technical assistance to state and local educators on technology for students with disabilities.  She worked on a federally-funded project, the Center for Special Education Technology, housed at the Council for Exceptional Children from 1986 to 1990.  There she worked as a program specialist responding to requests for information, developing resource products for dissemination, maintaining a resource database, monitoring technology applications and advances, and assisting in the planning and conduct of an annual research symposium.
