President's Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to RESNA and to our website. Among these pages you will find a wealth of knowledge and information as related to assistive technology and rehabilitation engineering.

RESNA has a rich and diverse history in the fields of assistive technology and rehabilitation engineering. Starting from a group of a few dedicated members it has grown into the premiere organization for professionals and researchers with the common mission of maximizing the health and well-being of people with disabilities through technology. Our collective mission is being realized through our annual conference, certification programs, educational offerings, and communication between us using tools like our website. We are continually working towards using new tools and innovations to help connect our ever-growing community.

As RESNA moves forward we have several challenges that we must face. These challenges include how to continue to engage our community in a meaningful way so that our organization is beneficial to all those interested in this field. Furthermore, we need to continue to work towards moving RESNA forward on the vastly growing international scene of assistive technology and rehabilitation engineering, and come up with new strategies to make our organization and its members leaders beyond our immediate borders.

I welcome your thoughts and ideas on these and other challenges, and for you to become personally involved in developing new and innovative solutions. I also encourage you to explore our site and to let us know what you think. Our website, like our organization, will only get better through the active engagement from our community.

I look forward to working with all of you.

Alex Mihailidis
