Consumer Access, Priorities, and Benefits Over the Lifespan

Mission

Our mission is to offer a dialog between users, vendors, clinicians, researchers, educators and policy makers and elevate the importance and potential of universal design, and user access over the lifspan and within our society. By discussing the challenges associated with implementing universal design in the various aspects of rehabilitation and assistive technology we also function as a resource for other product and system related RESNA SIGs.

Objectives

  • Bringing people together with a mutual interest and create an environment that fosters perspectives of universal design and good design
  • Promote designs that are inclusive
  • Bring awareness among RESNA members and others on the benefits of Universal Design for individuals with different needs and in different stages of their lives
  • Disseminate Universal Design related outcome studies, best practices, methods and tools to assist RESNA members in adopting Universal Design methods in their profession.
