Alternative Text Description for Figure 2: The example of the FSM dialog to control the wheelchair with two switch inputs

Image shows the example of the FSM dialog to control the wheelchair with two switch inputs. The states for this FSM are "stop", "left-rotate", "right-rotate", "forward", "left-forward" and "right-forward". Each states corresponds to the output commands from the controller. In this figure (ON,ON) indicates that the intensities of both input myoelectric signals exceed the thresholds, while (ON,OFF) means that the intensity of the signal from the one channel exceeds the threshold but that the signal from the other channel does not. A state-transition is activated when the input switch combination is changed. For example, when the current state is "stop" and the switch becomes (ON,ON) , then the state shifts to "forward", but the next transition will not be activated until the switch combination changes again from (ON,ON) .
