This bar chart displays the ratings for ease of belt restraint use that were assigned by the investigator based on observation of the wheelchair user positioning the lap and shoulder belts in their usual manner (not for placement of the belts for optimal fit). The x-axis shows the three possible ratings: “good”, “acceptable” and “poor”. The y-axis displays the percentage of cases within each rating category for closed-front armrests versus open-front armrests. One-hundred percent of the wheelchairs with open-front armrests (n=5) received a rating of “good” for ease of use. Ninety-two percent of the wheelchairs with closed-front armrests (n=12) were assigned a rating of “good” and 8% were assigned a rating of “acceptable”. No wheelchairs were assigned a rating of “poor” for ease-of-belt-restraint-use.
