The RESNA course, “Advanced Seating & Mobility Workshop, “ will be offered this year in conjunction with Medtrade, October 23 & 24 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.
This in-person, intensive workshop will cover advanced seating issues, systematically addressing common positioning challenges of the pelvis, trunk, lower and upper extremities, and the head. Day two, dedicated to advanced mobility, will cover advanced applications of power wheelchairs, including programming, alternative driving and access methods, programming customization, interfacing, infrared transmission, and mouse emulation. The instructor is Michelle L. Lange, OTR, ABDA, ATP/SMS.
Workshop attendees will receive a complimentary Medtrade Expo pass with their registration, as well as access to the Medtrade hotel block with reduced hotel room rates. Medtrade is the US’s largest home medical equipment tradeshow. It takes place October 21 – 23 at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta. Attendees can see products from hundreds of DME manufacturers, including mobility, rehab, and aids to daily living.
The Advanced Seating & Mobility Workshop overlaps Medtrade by one day, Thursday, October 23, and then finishes up on Friday, October 24. The course is from 8am to 4pm on both days; the cost is $345 for RESNA members and students, and $460 for non-members. RESNA is authorized by IACET to offer 1.2 CEUs for the course.
