Professional Standards Board
The Professional Standards Board (PSB) of RESNA is seeking qualified applicants to join them starting immediately! RESNA members and certificants of all experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The PSB is charged with oversight of RESNA's certification programs, the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Seating & Mobility Specialist (SMS), and Rehabilitation Engineering Technologist (RET). Members of the committee are required to attend semi-monthly meetings and participate in subcommittees, as necessary, including annual test development meetings. Members will serve a three-year term starting immediately.
Complaints Review Committee
The CRC adjudicates complaints concerning certified ATPs and RESNA members. If complaints are found to be valid, the CRC is charged with implementing appropriate sanctions, if any, in accordance with the Complaints Processing & Disciplinary Action Policy. Members serve a one-year term, and are required to attend a monthly meeting and participate in subcommittees as necessary.
Education Committee
The Education Committee is charged with oversight of all of RESNA's educational offerings. Committee members meet monthly. Members are also asked to serve on subcommittees and special projects, as warranted, and to conduct reviews of educational submissions, such as webinars, AT Journal articles, and conference sessions. Training is provided.
Co-A Rate Board
The CoA-Rate Board oversees the accreditation of assistive technology education programs to ensure high educational quality and relevance to the field of rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology. Board members meet monthly and are involved in evaluating academic programs, conducting site and virtual compliance visits, and representing the Board in the community. The board terms are three years and start on January 1. In particular, the Board is seeking volunteers who are employers of AT professionals and AT practitioners. For all committees, volunteers receive leadership training and are eligible for recognition through the RESNA awards program.
