The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) recently announced that NMEDA had been selected for the prestigious 2019 RESNA Leadership Award. The honor recognizes a company, agency, or organization for significant contributions to the field of assistive technology and rehabilitation engineering, and who have provided support and recognition for RESNA and RESNA's mission of promoting access to assistive technology for people with disabilities.
“I’m certain I speak for our board and all our members when I say this award means so much to our association,” stated Danny Langfield, CEO of NMEDA. “RESNA is of course highly respected in our industry for the critically important Assistive Technology Professional credential they administer, among many other reasons,” Langfield continued. “NMEDA is honored by this recognition and very proud of our ongoing partnership with this great organization.”
“I was proud to nominate NMEDA for the Leadership award, as I know first-hand what a difference the association makes,” said RESNA Board member John Anschutz, ATP, RET, Assistive Technology Manager at the Shepherd Center. “NMEDA has enhanced the public's knowledge about quality resources available to help people with disability and mobility impairments have the freedom of travel with various wheelchair accessible vehicles, whether the individual travels as a passenger or a driver. The partnership between NMEDA and RESNA is something the members of both organizations should be very proud of.”
Danny was kind enough to thank RESNA along with RESNA's John Anschutz
