RESNA has signed on to be a supporting organization of RehabTech Asia, a new healthcare and medical event focused on assistive technology, integrated care and rehabilitation engineering. RehabTech Asia is scheduled for February 27-March 1, 2013 in Singapore, and will bring together academics, clinicians, end-users, policymakers and suppliers under one roof, in what is hoped will be the most pre-eminent event of its kind in Asia.
RESNA board members Jerry Weisman (President), Alex Mihailidis (President-Elect) and Jennifer Bogar have joined the event’s International Advisory Committee and RESNA is listed as a supporting organization. Efforts are underway to collaborate in terms of content, program and outreach, and to offer RESNA’s “Fundamentals in AT” course during the event.
“Technology holds a great deal of promise; it can enable people with disabilities and the aging population to live independent and fulfilling lives,” said Weisman in the press release announcement. “RESNA welcomes the opportunity to partner with RehabTech Asia to encourage networking among international stakeholders to share and exchange information and ideas.”
