RESNA/NCART 2016 is now accepting submissions for workshop and instructional course proposals. Submissions are due November 19, 2015.
RESNA/NCART 2016 is July 10-14, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA. This is the first-ever collaboration between RESNA and NCART, the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology. The conference will include the "best of both worlds" from both events, and will feature:
- Clinically-focused workshop sessions
- Scientific research platform and poster sessions
- Professional development and leadership training
- Interactive exhibits with free public hours
- Capitol Hill visits
- Networking events
- Student competitions
- Instructional courses, including RESNA's Fundamentals in Assistive Technology course
The conference is seeking proposals for innovative, interdisciplinary, informative and practical workshops and instructional courses in the following topic areas:
- Computer applications and communications
- Cognitive and sensory impairments
- Internationally appropriate technology
- Job and environmental accommodation
- Emerging technology
- Service delivery and outcomes
- Public policy and advocacy
- Seating and mobility, including complex rehab technology
- Other
In the "Other" category, the requested topics are psychosocial aspects associated with accepting assistive technologies at different stages of life and for different diagnoses; serving baby-boomers; assistive technology and end-of-life issues; grant writing and how to identify partners and resources; strategies for cognitive rehab, and aging into multiple disabilities. Other topics will also be considered.
