Starting April 1st, candidates who are approved for the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification exam or the Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS) certification exam will be required to sit for the exam within a defined three-month period. The exam period schedule is as follows:

ATP certification recognizes professionals who have reached a certain standard of knowledge in assistive technology, promoting RESNA’s code of ethics and the highest ethical standards. The SMS certification recognizes and identifies professionals with advanced knowledge and experience in the field of seating and mobility. Candidates must meet certain eligibility requirements to qualify to take either exam.
