The Accreditation Ad Hoc Committee, formed last year by the RESNA Board of Directors, is continuing to complete activities for accreditation of rehabilitation engineering/assistive technology certificate and degree programs in higher education. The accreditation standards are currently being reviewed by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The committee expects a favorable review of the standards and should hear by late November regarding the acceptance and approval of the standards. Applicant programs are expected to be solicited in the Spring 2016.
A website will be available by the end of 2015 to inform interested applicants about the accreditation process. Of particular interest to potential applicants will be a self-study document to help prepare program directors for a site visit. There will be a fee for interested programs which includes both the initial application fee and a site visit fee to support the travel costs of 2-3 reviewers. Please contact Mary Goldberg at
