Letter from the President - February 2023

Hello everyone!

Can you believe we’re already through February? Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, and there is nothing more fun than our announcement earlier this week – registration for the 2023 RESNA Annual Conference will open March 13! Back in-person for the first time in three years, we’re heading to New Orleans, LA, July 24-26, 2023 for 2.5 days of hands-on education and networking. I encourage you to secure your spot as soon as possible to ensure you’re paying the lowest rate possible.

Just like the jazz you’ll hear playing out in the French Quarter, the emerging trends and new tech in AT are constantly evolving, and there’s no place to see it like the Experience Hall at this year’s conference.

Speaking of RESNA’s innovations and education, we’ve officially announced our educational track at the 2023 International Seating Symposium! We’re so excited to collaborate with ISS to develop sessions that focus on technology convergence. This trend is affecting seating and mobility professionals who need to know ‘more than wheelchairs’ to best serve their clients. Check out the track today, and I hope to see you at ISS this April!

Lastly, I want to give a shout out to the members who joined me for our ‘Office Hours with the President’ that we held in December and February. It was inspiring to hear from so many members who wanted to talk about RESNA’s different initiatives. We’ll be holding another one soon, so stay tuned for an email that will provide instructions on how to sign up. And remember, there are always volunteer opportunities for you to get more involved with RESNA, whether through a SIG, PSG, or one of our committees.

Thank you,

Carmen DiGiovine, PhD, ATP/SMS, RET

RESNA President
