The RESNA Assistive Technology Standards Board (ATSB) coordinates the development of voluntary consensus standards in the United States and represents the needs and views of U.S. stakeholders in international standardization forums. The ATSB also is the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the development of international standards through the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pertaining to assistive technology and other products for persons with disabilities.
RESNA has received increased interest in standards development as it relates to ostomy and incontinence and is interested in becoming the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO/TC 173/SC 3 - Aids for ostomy and incontinence.
RESNA is seeking a minimum of 5 organizations and/or individuals with professional or personal experience related to ostomy and incontinence to join RESNA’s new U.S. Technical Advisory Group.
Responsibilities include:
- Attend and come prepared to meetings, you can expect to spend about 1-2 hours per month.
- Vote in a timely manner on ballots for standards documents.
- Abide by all RESNA and ISO Standards policies and procedures.
Your participation in the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO/TC 173/SC 3 - Aids for ostomy and incontinence will allow you and/or your organization to have a voice and vote as to how this group of standards are developed and modified now and in the future.
Through this work, you have the opportunity to advance the development, management, and safety of ostomy and incontinence aids and, as a result, directly improve the lives of those who use these products.
If you are interested in joining, please complete a membership application form.
