RESNA ANNOUNCES 2022 CONFERENCE WILL BE VIRTUAL

“Driving the Future of AT” is July 14-16 2022

RESNA will once again hold its annual conference virtually, due to the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic.

“With the omicron variant and ongoing travel restrictions and difficulties related to the pandemic, this was a decision we felt we had to make,” said Executive Director Andrea Van Hook. “It’s still early in our planning process so we can make this switch easily. We’ve now held two successful virtual conferences, and our members and attendees tell us they really enjoy it. They are able to earn more CEUs than at an in-person conference, and they don’t have to worry about the expense of travel.”

RESNA’s 2022 Virtual Conference will include:

  • 3 days of continuing education sessions on a wide range of AT topics, available live and on-demand.
  • Keynote lectures from prominent assistive technology thinkers and leaders
  • Interactive scientific paper platform sessions and poster hall
  • Interactive Developer’s Showcase, featuring new and emerging technologies
  • The Student Design Challenge and Student Scientific Paper Competition
  • Virtual exhibit hall, with the ability to offer product demonstrations and one-on-one meetings
  • Opportunities to meet, network, and exchange information with other like-minded professionals

RESNA’s call for session proposals is closed. Staff is reaching out to session presenters to inform them of the change to virtual. RESNA plans to announce its conference continuing education program as planned in March 2022. All education sessions will offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Registration will also open at that time.

The call for scientific papers and student scientific papers is now underway, with a due date of February 25, 2022. The Developer’s Showcase and the Student Design Challenge will be announced shortly. Please see information at this link.

“We are still looking at ways to do something in-person in 2022; there are some very creative ideas on the table, so stay tuned!” said Van Hook.
