Your path from AMRG Certified Rehab Technician to RESNA’s Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification

About the program

The ATP Guidance Program (AGP) provides the training and mentorship that rehab technicians need to make the leap from AMRG Certified Technician to RESNA ATP Certification.

This one-year program, starting in October 2024, will ensure that rehab technicians have the knowledge, skills and preparation to take the ATP exam and start work immediately as a quality ATP.

Besides successfully passing the ATP exam, certified ATPs must also master important client-facing skills such as:

  •  Handling tough conversations and conflicts
  •  Working in a team
  •  Explaining coverage restraints and options

The ATP Guidance Program offers a comprehensive approach by providing the necessary background in assistive technology service provision and delivery; making connections and contacts across the AT field; and practice in handling real world situations.

This program is a collaboration of the Assistive Mobility Repair Group (AMRG), U.S. Rehab, and RESNA.

Program Benefits

  •  Rehab Technicians – Advance your career by becoming an ATP! One-on-one mentorship will give you your own guide through real world situations.
  • Employers – “Home grow” your own ATPs through this structured program that takes the burden off you, and rewards dedicated and committed employees. In addition, most educational offerings are provided after hours and on weekends.
