How do you support learners across platforms and curriculum using built-in accessibility features found in everyday devices? This session is a hands-on jumpstart to eliminating barriers for individuals with disabilities using accessibility features in everyday tools. Come and learn about some amazing accessibility features and how to use them to support learner needs. There will be plenty of opportunities to play and explore, using the everyday tools to solve real-life scenarios including some of your own. Collaborate to learn from your peers and glean knowledge about accessibility features that you can immediately implement whether for yourself or a learner.
Learning Objectives:
- Define what accessibility is and why it is so critical for those who require access to information, communication, and independence.
- Identify built in accessibility features on Mac/iOS and Microsoft platforms
- Demonstrate the use of at least one accessibility feature on their preferred device and platform
