This session will increase participants knowledge and skills in using donated corrugated plastic for rapid fabrication of hundreds of assistive technology devices that can be used to increase Independence at home, in the workplace and educational environments. In addition, each participant will fabricate one multiuse assistive technology device using three different specialty tapes, coroplast, Klever Cutter and Scissors. Learning and developing skills in rapid fabrication/prototyping techniques using free and low-cost materials, empowers everyone to be a rapid assistive technology problem solver. Now more than ever, we need to access time saving and money saving methods and materials to address everyday challenges.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify at least 20 different AT devices that can be made with Coroplast
- Identify at least 4 different specialty tapes and four different tools to use when working with coroplast.
- Using four different tapes, a Klever Cutter, scissors, and coroplast participant will make a mult-use assistive technology device to take with them
